Deloy Miller
As owner of Millco Energy Consultants, LLC, founded in September, 2015, Mr. Miller has assembled a group of highly experienced individuals who have over 50 years experience in the oil and gas industry. Mr. Miller founded Miller Energy Resources, Inc. in 2008. He served as Chief Operating Officer until July 2013 and has served as Executive Chairman until September 2014. He previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Miller Petroleum Inc. that he founded in 1967.
Mr. Miller is a seasoned oil and gas professional and drilling contractor with more than 40 years of experience in the drilling and production of the Appalachian Basin where he has drilled over 5000 oil and gas wells. As a drilling contractor in the Southern Appalachian Basin, Mr. Miller has extensive geological knowledge of Tennessee and Kentucky and has been trained in the art of reading oil and gas well logs.
He has served as Petroleum Industry's Representative on the Tennessee Oil & Gas Board. Served as an Energy Advisory Council member at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta from February 2011 to March 2014. As one of the founding members, Mr. Miller served two terms as President of the Tennessee Oil & Gas Association and currently serves as a lifelong, founding Director.
Mr. Miller has been accredited with being the leader in converting the Appalachian Basin from cable tool drilling to air drilling, using Ingersoll-Rand T3 Drillmaster rigs.
Chris Reneau
After 25 years in the rubber air hose manufacturing industry, Mr. Reneau accepted a position with Miller Energy Resources, Inc., as Tennessee Field Operations Manager for Miller Energy Resources. Mr. Reneau was responsible for scheduling the workover rigs and crews, interviewing and hiring new associates, and purchasing all of the supplies needed to support the drilling and service rigs.
He also put in place an employee handbook and a safety program for the Tennessee operations. Mr. Reneau was also assigned to the task of building a complete rig inventory, including all of the backup support supplies for all the Alaskan facilities. He oversaw the Huntsville office and yard until their closing in August 2015.
In September 2015, Mr. Reneau was named Operations Manager of Millco Energy Consultants, LLC of Huntsville, Tennessee, where his duties are to oversee all aspects of the business, including coordination and the logistics of all drilling operations, well services, and support.
David Wright
Mr. Wright is a Registered Professional Geologist (TN 0061) with over thirty years of experience in the oil and gas industry. During this time, Mr. Wright has been focused on exploration, lease acquisition and development, and environmental issues oversight.
Mr. Wright retired in June 2015 where he was EVP - Tennessee Operations for Miller Energy Resources, Inc.
Mr. Wright presently is a consulting geologist focused on oil and gas and environmental issues.
Gene Lockyear
Mr. Lockyear, 71, owner of Lockyear Consulting, serves all aspects of the oil and gas industry.
He served as Vice President of Operations of Miller Energy Resources from June 2009 to July 2015.
From 1983 to 2009, Mr. Lockyear was the President of East Tennessee Consultants and a Partner in the LLC since its formation in 1996.
Mr. Lockyear holds a B.A. in Geology from Vanderbilt University as well as a M.S. in Geology and related work in Engineering also from Vanderbilt University.
Mr. Lockyear is a Registered Professional Geologist in the State of Tennessee (#4470) and a former Registered Professional Environmentalist in the State of Tennessee as well as a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
Steve Armstrong
Mr. Armstrong has been working on drill rigs since before he graduated high school. Although he graduated in 1974 from Oneida High School, he was working as a roughneck for his father in 1972.
Mr. Armstrong broke-out as a Driller in 1973. Mr. Armstrong has also worked as a Tool Pusher since 1978. He was named as Drilling Supervisor for ZTX in Tennessee and Kentucky in 2007.
Mr. Armstrong accepted the position of Drilling Superintendant for Miller Energy Resources in 2008 where he served until their closure in 2015. During his time with Miller Energy Resources, he completed Well Control certification in 2001and worked in Tennessee and the Cook Inlet area of Alaska drilling and directing the drilling of hundreds of oil and gas wells. Mr. Armstrong has drilled wells up to 15,000ft.
He also has worked on and overseen hundreds of workover projects to revitalize older, nonproducing oil and gas wells. He has vast experience in drilling in Tennessee and Kentucky drilling with water, saltwater, mud, air, and foam. Mr. Armstrong has worked on and has overseen horizontal wells, conventional rotary rigs, and hydraulic rigs. He has experience with all the problems presented by different formations, mines, water zones, and other issues.
Mr. Armstrong is currently employed as a consultant and adviser for Millco Energy Consultants based in Huntsville, Tennessee.
